Perspectives
When an incident happens in the street, the significance of the consequences starts to unravel. Perspectives focuses on the narration of one event from two different points of view. Through this formal device the piece explores the functionality of language as a conveyor of meaning which can be shaped to empower the speaker. Imagined in a future post-pandemic world and playing with various digital formats, the film also offers and insight on contemporary communication and its consequent linguistic simplification. The question that arises from the characters’ discourse concerns the effectiveness and validity of their words, which can move against the emotions they try to express.
